Getting to Know Rick Langford

For Rick Langford it’s all about great big friendly service.

Growing up in the small towns of Parry Sound and Magnetawan, Ontario, Rick learned at an early age what big is all about. His father introduced him to wide open country that is the Near North, starting with the wonderful views out the living room window of the family home and the inspiring vistas they saw from their boat while fishing.

The Bigger Picture

Out in that boat there was time to talk about the important things and he came to learn that life is about the bigger picture: we all benefit when we work together, whether it is reeling in a big catch or finding a place to call home. That's why Rick starts each day with the goal of helping all of his client's find the perfect home, in a location they love.

Rick has a deep belief that his business is more than just about selling houses, it's about working with people to help them realize their dreams. He believes 100% in service, not sales. Raising the bar of excellence in service is his priority.

Service: A Family Tradition   Rick with daughter Bailey

Rick's family has a long history of service. Both his grandfathers and his father served in the armed forces during the World Wars. And as his father taught him, he taught his children: Service counts for something in this world.

Both his daughter Bailey and his son Kristopher are proud sailors in the navy; one an office serving on the east coast and the other a former special forces diver on the west coast. You might say they have their much loved country covered from coast to coast.

                                                                               On Thinking Big

Rick and Kerry entertain happy clients this past holiday seasonWhen Rick isn't helping his clients with their most important investment, he enjoys time out to fish on the Pickerel River. He is the chairman of the Kitchener Chapter of Muskies Canada, an organization dedicated to the preservation of the Muskelunge fish. When it comes to fishing, Rick believes in "catch and release". When it comes to his clients, that won't do. Rick is with you every step of the way, from the beginning to the end of your transaction, and beyond. You aren't a sales figure, your a real human being who deserves an understanding of the process and above the bar, excellent service.

Rick’s Platinum Rules

Treat others the way they want to be treated. Let me first understand what you want and I'll give it to you.

Be the kind of person your dog thinks you are. Your dog thinks you are the best person in the world. Strive to be that person.

Getting to Know Kerry Macnaughton

Mrs. Edie Says to Share

This was a popular mantra in Kerry’s household, growing up.She believes it came about when she was playing tug of war over a toy with her younger sister. Out of her sister’s mouth came the words, “Mrs. Edie says to share!”  Her father heard the argument and adopted the phrase as a lesson to his three children. Whenever sibling rivalry reared its head, her father would say these very words and his children usually broke into laughter. They served as a reminder to the lesson Kerry’s younger sister-the lovely Kelly, had learned about sharing in Sunday school, taught by the by now famous Mrs. Edie.

Sharing and Caring

It’s been many, many years since the tug of war, but that phrase is still popular with Kerry’s family. Sharing and caring were lessons well taught, along with a healthy dose of laughter, and the the basis for Kerry’s philosophy of life. She believes that as a real estate professional, she is in a caring profession. She doesn’t count her achievements by the number of houses sold; she counts the number of people she has helped smile when they have realized their dream. More often than not, client's become life long friends.

Community and Service

So where does one take all that caring and laughter when not helping people make a move? To the children's recreational program run by Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. Kerry volunteers to entertain children at the local woman's shelter as often as she can fit it into her busy schedule.
